Statistics on this blog increase

One of the Counters on this blog has been active for a few years now. It shows that the amount of visitors each month has been growing quite a bit. Search Engine Marketing is more important than ever since the amount of websites and webtools is growing. Who will find what on the Internet is the big question everybody is asking.

Motigo Counter New

The Motigo Counter has a new feature in it. Thet call it the "Heat-Map". It has been activated to test the results. It takes 48 hours to be fully operational.

The Search engine Google has picked up on this blog quite well. It has brought visitors from the different countries as you can see,.

Motigo - Overview visitors 31-10-2007

While Statcounter only registers the last 500 hits, the Motigo counter saves all hits and therefore becomes interesting when one is searchibf for historical information. The longer a site is in the air, the more interesting the statistical data gets because one can make prognoses. Here is an overview of the countries visitors come from. Seems like they come also from abroad now. Even some dozens of hits from www.google.com themselves (in California, USA), so they are reading this too.....

On the map that Motigo shows thare are obvious hisr from abroad. The ClustrMap has a delay of one day, so eventually there will show up some more red dots on the small map.

On the Motigo counter I can see where the visitors of the last daya came from. Seems like the Yahoo group is visited mainly by USA-inhabitants from East to West. One could zoom in on this map and find out where their computer lives....

Stats of Michael Lumb Site

This is a very interesting sample of how statistics from Motigo can give you a view of ahwt happens to a site. This is a site I made to publish the Thesis by Michael Lumb in UK to promote his work on Mail-Art. (see: http://www.fortunecity.com/victorian/palace/62/). I updated the site only a few times and also installed the Motigo Counter. Here you can see how the interest for this thesis built up and reached its peak in 2003. Now slowly the interest fades. The interesting aspect is here to see the total amount of visitors over a period of 10 years. Most counters don't provide such a long service. Motigo originally was called NedStats, but they always kept the data they collected of the sites that were added. Bravo! Food for statistical people....

Hits according to Motigo

Motigo has registered these hot on this site. It seperates the returning hits and the individual visitors. As you can see the hits have dropped because there are only few changes to the site now.

Motigo - Overview Continents

On my website http://www.iuoma.org/ the Motigo statistics are now running quite some years. Just last month the 50.000th visitor came in! It gives an idea of whicht continents the visitors come from. Africa is still not connected. Since the topic on this website is Mail-Art, this shows where the interest comes from.

which is a collaborative blog with now 41 authors. It's Autority is already 9 abd growing. You can see that most visitors come from the USA after the start about 3 months ago. Because of the few statistic-programms attached to the site, this is visible.

On a group I asked a few people to have a look at the blog so they could give some feedback. Actually I did get a few e-mails too, and also I now can show you how the hits are registered in the programms. First sample: the countries overview from Motigo. You can see from which countries the visitors came and how the percentages are for each countries.

The first hits from abroad start to come in. Only one day after the site was started. In the statistical database that Motigo is building for this blog I can see where they come from East-coast and West-coast of Amerika.

Where do they all come from

The first hit from Los Angeles was registered by Motigos. This programm also shows on a map where all the visitors come from. I will publish these schemes here now and then so you can see how things develope here.

Let Technorati PING your blog

In one of the statistical programms I see that a machine searched my new blog:

This was caused by a request I placed on the Technorati site to PING my blog. They also scanned the tags that I am placing with each entry. These tags will be used to index the site and make it possible to let people find this text. It all takes a few days (or sometimes just hours) before it becomes active, but the inter-networking has started. The his form "Performance Systems International" was registered by the Motigo-statistical programm. Actually also the first foreign hit for the site. In the near future surely more will start to follow since the site is now being (or already has been) indexed by two large search-engines.

The advantage of these counters is that you get quite specific information on the visitors of the site. It includes historical data, countries, Browser-information, etc. In the following postings I will tell you some more about these details, and actually show you a few. All I need is a few more hits for these counters and then the illustrations will also become interesting for you and me/
